Business coaching and funded programmes
Coaching with Sally Marshall takes three shapes: 1:1 mentoring with private clients, small-group programmes, and a separate strand of fully-funded business support delivered to social enterprises and charities through a national programme partnership. All three are described below.
1:1 business mentoring
The flagship engagement. Most 1:1 mentoring clients are SME owners with established businesses (5–50 employees, or £200k–£5m revenue) facing a specific strategic question — scaling, hiring, exit, succession, partnership, restructuring, or a market shift. The format is conversation-based, agenda set by the client at the start of each session, with practical takeaways and short follow-up actions between meetings.
Engagement shapes
3-month engagement — £1,800
For a specific challenge or transition. Six 90-minute sessions over three months, plus async messaging access. The format we'd recommend for someone working through a one-off question (e.g., a hiring decision, a partnership offer, a major investment) rather than ongoing strategic support.
6-month engagement — £3,200
The most common format. Twelve sessions over six months, with quarterly review checkpoints and async access throughout. Pace varies, usually fortnightly for the first six weeks, monthly thereafter.
12-month strategic partnership — £5,800
For business owners going through a multi-year transition (a planned exit, a major scale-up, a significant restructure). Monthly sessions plus quarterly off-sites and async access. Includes board-observer involvement on request.
Group programmes
Two scheduled group programmes run each year. These are paid programmes capped at 8–12 participants, and they share more practical content than 1:1 work because the participants learn from each other as much as from Sally.
Steer Your Business — 12-week growth programme
March intake, with 8 participants. Weekly 90-minute group calls, monthly 1:1 check-in, private WhatsApp group, plus a one-day in-person session in May at our Kent venue. £1,400. The programme covers strategic planning, operational systems, hiring, financial controls, and sales — practical and immediately applicable to most SMEs.
Delegate2Elevate — 8-week leadership programme
September intake, with 10 participants. Focused specifically on owners who need to step back from the day-to-day. The operational delegation, leadership team building, and self-management work that lets an owner move from "doing the job" to "running the business". £1,100.
Funded programmes, for social enterprises and charities
We deliver several fully-funded business support programmes to social enterprises and charities, funded through partnerships with national programme bodies. These are free at the point of delivery to the recipient organisation.
12-hour business support package
Six 2-hour 1:1 sessions over three months, plus access to peer support meetings. Covers strategic planning, governance, financial sustainability, and the operational challenges specific to social-enterprise structures.
Eligibility: UK-registered charities or social enterprises (CIC, CIO, or equivalent). Annual turnover under £1m at time of application. Application via the national funding partner. We'll connect you with the right route during an initial conversation.
Peer support cohorts
Monthly small-group peer support meetings (4–6 social-enterprise leaders per group), facilitated by Sally. Confidential, no agenda imposed, focused on the leaders supporting each other through the year. Runs in 6-month cycles.
How to start
Every engagement starts with a free 30-minute conversation. We use that to understand what you're working on, talk through whether one of the engagement formats above is the right fit, and agree on what would happen next. No commitment from the conversation itself.
Book by emailing [email protected] with a sentence or two about your business and what you're working on. Sally will reply with a calendar link.
For organisations and HR teams
We do a small amount of work with HR teams who want to provide coaching to their senior managers as a development benefit. These are quoted per engagement and usually run as 6-month cohorts (4–6 managers from the same organisation, parallel 1:1 plus shared peer-support calls). Email for the corporate rate card.
